Daniel Ivery is an old friend of mine, we’ve known one another for more than 20 years. He wrote a book called Haircuts and League Cups and exhaustively(obsessively?) researched the mysterious and secretive Hong Kong based owners of Birmingham City. He is widely credited with having laid the ground for a successful takeover of the club by New York-based Knighthead. He’s far too modest:
I always used to enjoy Danny Baker’s radio show on Saturday mornings. He was sacrificed on the altar of political correctness after making a ill-judged joke that was open to misinterpretation but is nevertheless is still great value for money with his quirky and tangential view on life. Sadly, he’s still using Twitter when so many people have turned their back on it, but nevertheless still comes up with some interesting stuff that he uncovers:
Pete Taylor is another long-time friend who is a versatile and imaginative photographer. His work has featured in exhibitions in London and New York:

David Wadley was the photographer for our wedding. We picked him at random from a wedding brochure and only then got to learn that he’s been voted UK Wedding Photographer of the Year no less than three times!

Ryan Deeney is a knowledgeable analyst of football tactics, primarily focused on Birmingham City and National League football:

My stepson David Lowry is an innovative tattooist whose clients fly in from all over the world. On Instagram he has over 170,000 followers:

Rosie Lowry is my wife. She’s written books on canine body language which have been translated into several languages and also offers tailored advice to clients:
My friend Jeremy Bassett operates a website selling football programmes and memorabilia on a not-for-profit basis. He makes regular donations from the proceeds to charities such as Breast Cancer Research, Dementia UK, The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes:

Stef Dawson is a software engineer who used to work for me and still helps out with things on an occasional basis. He's a font of knowledge on all kinds of things and has a blog which takes a rather tangential and interesting view of life:
Healthy Cells UK is a newly-established company trying to bring a proven treatment for Diabetes to the UK. It's already successfully used in other countries:
I've been friends with David Penn for a long time, since we first worked together on a TV Pilot. He's a multi-award winning magician with some truly innovative tricks. He develops technology tricks for other magicians. He performed table magic at our wedding and simply astounded the guests!
My cousin, Greg Martellotto runs a successful winery in California. He's a real connoisseur of fine wines and fine dining. I don't see as much of Greg as I'd like, but here's his website:
